Ghost Asylum Review - A popular Ghost Hunting team is reviewed for their methods.

Ghost Asylum Review - A popular Ghost Hunting team is reviewed for their methods. While this is an entertaining video, it should not be mistaken for authentic paranormal research. There's no application of Scientific Method and too many problems from an evidentiary perspective.

The team calls themselves professional Ghost Hunters but they seem to lack even a rudimentary understanding of the spirit world.

They don’t know about “call & response” knocking that is a hallmark of spirit activity. With two knocks, one mimicking the sound of another, we can know for certain that it is spirit activity and not a common knock from heat expansion. They don’t hear the words embedded in the knocks, don’t seem to understand audio must be slowed down, and never demonstrate to us that they hear the other times that the spirits were talking to them. In the end they state that they are trying understand why a murder was committed there and asked the spirits “do you know anything about it?” They set a flashlight on a windowsill and instead of simply listening to the spirits they coax the spirit to turn the flashlight on & off. After several misses they get a flashlight to turn on and after six further attempts get it turned off again. They seem very satisfied with that - they can prove they made spirit contact, which seems to be the entire point of the video. Making spirit contact. They didn’t go after any facts at all. They chase names from a story that may or may not be true.

While they accomplished the mission of producing an interesting video, they failed completely to learn anything whatsoever scientific. No names, no details of any events, no attempts to resolve any conflicts. They never heard the spirits say:
“Exorcism”
“I do”
“I couldn’t be”
“They couldn’t find anything”

Had I had access to the source video I would have found many more a EVPs most likely.
