Fire Emblem 12: New Mystery of the Emblem is a tactical RPG developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. It’s the twelfth installment in the Fire Emblem series and is a remake of the third game in the series, Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem. As with previous installments in the Fire Emblem series, Fire Emblem 12 gameplay revolves around positioning your characters on a gridlike battlefield and defeating an opposing enemy force. Just like all other Fire Emblem games, if characters are defeated in battle, they’re removed for the rest of the game. Playing without reloading is sometimes called an ironman playthrough and is how we will be playing (maybe, sorta… okay not really what can I say it would be suicidal for a first playthrough on the hardest difficulty to stick to this all the time). The story of Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon takes place on the continent of Archanea and follows the character Marth two years after Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, where he was forced into exile by traitorous scum and false friends. What happens next? I don’t know yet silly, this is a blind playthrough.
Fire Emblem New Mystery of the Emblem was published in 2010 for the Nintendo DS. The development of Fire Emblem 12 began during the development of Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon. The game saw the return of director Tohru Narihiro, co-directors Masayuki Horikawa and Kouhei Maeda. With artwork redrawn by Daisuke Izuka. Fire Emblem 12 saw the addition of new features such as support conversations over the original Mystery of the Emblem. Fire Emblem New Mystery of the Emblem was not officially released in the west making it the first title since Fire Emblem The Binding Blade to not get one. The game Fire Emblem 12 New Mystery of the Emblem was released as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations for the franchise.
