Danger of Drug and Alcohol Addiction in the work place - Alan Charles Lunch and Learn

Danger of Drug and Alcohol Addiction in the work place - Alan Charles Lunch and Learn Struggles with addiction and mental health cost employers $81 billion each year, yet as good as they are at openly communicating about basic health care benefits, support for these issues is rarely talked about. In addition, the stigma of addiction keeps many people from coming forward for fear of losing their job as well as being judged by others. I can help you get the conversation started to empower your employees to see the signs of addiction — either in themselves or other coworkers — and get the help that's needed.

No stigma. No shame. Just real talk from recovering addict and author Alan Charles. His book, "Walking out the Other Side: An addict's journey from loneliness to life," was just a small part of his commitment to giving back after 24 years of addiction to cocaine. Now over 12+ years clean, he's spoken to youth groups, corporations, and sports teams about becoming aware, empowered and unashamed to deal with addictions and other obstacles.

The Lunch and Learn program will include Alan's own story and how it relates to creating a culture of recovery and acceptance in the workplace. Even without an established Employee Assistance Program, he will offer resources for companies and the people they employ to help create a path to wellness and success on all levels.
