Red Shoes Protest in Mexico Brings Attention to Gender Violence

Red Shoes Protest in Mexico Brings Attention to Gender Violence In Mexico, on average, 10 women and girls are murdered every day, and less than 10% of those cases are ever solved.

Activists are placing hundreds of red women’s shoes on Mexico City’s main square, to highlight the problem of gender-based violence in the country.

This protest installation has been going on for over 10 years, and each pair of shoes represents a woman who has disappeared in Mexico.
