Khafi & Gedoni's Surprise Engagement & Why Some Fans Are Not Convinced!

It seems like 29-year-old Reality Star, Khafi Kareem's is having the last laugh after the man she had an intimate moment under the duvet on national TV with, put a ring on it.
The Met Police officer who made headlines in the UK by defiling her workforce to go on Nigeria's popular reality show BBNaija, says she got the best Christmas gift of her life when Gedoni asked her to be his wife on December 25, 2019.
Khafi and Gedoni were romantically involved during their stay in the Big Brother house. They made headlines both in Nigeria and the UK with their raunchy under the duvet romance that got people talking, including their fellow reality stars in the house. The couple, however, continued their relationship after eviction and maintained their relationship low. They have surprised Nigerians with an engagement announcement. However, as much as the majority of people are congratulating the latest engaged reality couple, some people still think Khafi deserves better.
BBNaija reality show as we know brings fame and wealth to contesting housemates. The Show is also fast becoming a bridge that can connect two strangers and set them on the path to becoming life partners. Khafi Kareem and Gedoni Ekpata have become the 2nd couple from the show to announce love and wedding bells.
Two of the 2018 reality star contestants Teddy A and Bam Bam sealed their union in a white wedding ceremony held in Dubai on November 17 2019, making them the first couple from the reality show to tie the knot. The happily married couple are currently expecting their first child.
Back to the lastest stars following the same footstep, Khafi took to her Instagram page on Thursday, December 26, 2019, to announce the engagement. She shared this photo while embracing Gedoni, holding out a piece of paper written, "I said yes." With the caption.
"Oh, and I got the Christmas gift ever #MrsEkpataloading," she captioned her post.
During their viral under the duvet romance, many celebrities had a lot to say about the relationship. Some of them after hearing the engagement quickly penned a public apology coupled up with congratulation messages on social media.
OAP Dotun in a social media post apologised to Gedoni for having a different opinion about him when he started dating Khafi Kareem in the Big Brother Naija House.
The radio personality said he didn't like Gedoni in the house because he thought he was a distraction to Khafi. He says all is in the past now and he is happy for both of them.
Nollywood actress, Lala Akindoju also publicly reacted to Khafi and Gedoni's engagement, writing how she once had a conversation with Khafi on "why she followed a man" while still a housemate of the reality show. She told Khafi that Gedoni was a distraction also. She said the British police officers replied that she found something more than a reality show.
Kafi's BFF Tacha was in shock but super happy for the couple, other celebrities also took to social media to congratulate the newest couple in town.
This also comes after Rumours of BBNaija winner, Mercy Eke split with Boyfriend IKE. If a couple from the reality show were expected to get married soon, Mercy and Ike were seen as more likely because their romance came across as real during and after the reality show. But they've now unfollowed each other on social and deleted all their pictures together.
While some are congratulating them over the surprise engagement, others are expressing a mixed feeling, saying that Gedoni doesn't come across as a man in love and doesn't love Kafi as much as she loves him. Some say he is in for the British passport he can gain from marrying Khafi while others are saying he is only acting on his plan B.
Going back to when it all started, Kafi caused outrage among senior officers at the MET pOLICE by appearing on the African version of the reality TV show without permission. Following her entry into the house in June 2019, the Met issued a bruising statement confirming Kareem has asked for permission to appear on the show but was denied and that she had chosen to accept a place in the house "without authority".
After her eviction, Kafi briefly went back to the UK and said she has been in communication with her workplace. They asked her when she will be coming back, and she can't wait to get back to work because she is passionate about keeping London saver.
This comes after she had addressed the controversial romance under the sheets with Gedoni and denied any sexual activities taking place. She, however, confirmed found someone while in the house and fell in love.
