Commercial vehicle entry in Delhi plunges 90% after RFID

Commercial vehicle entry in Delhi plunges 90% after RFID The amount of commercial vehicles entering Delhi through its 13 RFID toll points has come down to 4,000 vehicles each day since it was made mandatory in August. Almost 35,000 commercial vehicles were entering Delhi each day before RFID was launched. EPCA said the decline in the number may be due to the environment compensation charge (ECC) that gets deducted through RFID. A noticeable increase has seen in the average number of vehicles being recorded every day on the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressway.
