【4K】Japanese Street Food - Deadly Poisonous Fish, Cutting Skills, Sashimi, Fried Food, Okinawa #seafood#washoku
This fish, named knobsnout parrotfish (scarus ovifrons), has a bright blue color, but is dangerous enough to bite off human fingers and also has palytoxin in its internal organs, which is a kind of poison much stronger than tetrodotoxin that pufferfish has.
If palytoxin is taken in the body, it causes paralysis, difficulty in breathing, or even death.
No detoxification method has been established so far, so NEVER try to eat the internal organs.
Nonetheless, it's a very delicious white fish and tastes like sea bream when served as sashimi.
Especially, I found it's the best as fried fish among other fishes I've ever tried.
The odor was completely diminished when fried and the flesh was soft.
The fish mainly live from Okinawa, Japan to off the coast of the Philippines, so I strongly recommend you to taste it when you visit! (I recommend the fry!)

Dear Oversea Viewers,
Thank you for watching my video.
Because Japan is a country surrounded by the sea, various seafood gather here.
Of course, there are many kinds of seafood which I haven't seen.
I am happy that you share the charm of Mother Nature with me!
