Too much, too late? De-escalation of curative treatment - a challenge for all A parallel session at the 2019 Hospice UK National Conference, it considered the shifting lines between intensive, disease-directed treatment and palliative care. It addressed the inherent dilemmas that this brings and the challenges that are faced.

It drew on the experience of clincians working in the children's hospice setting where complex, skill-based care is increasingly in demand and the divergent views of young people, their parents/carers and the healthcare team who meet in associated challenging conversations.

Speaking were Dr Mike Miller, Trustee of Naomi House and Jacksplace, Dr Michelle Koh, a Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine at the University Hospital Southampton and Naomi House and Jacksplace, and Sonya O'Leary from Keech Hospice Care. #HUKConf19 #DyingForChange
