Barcelona Frenchman substituted in the 56th minuteErnesto Valverde didn't think Leganes would be able to handle his forward line of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann, yet the latter was yet again singled out by the Spanish coach when he was withdrawn in the 56th minute of play as Barcelona struggled. Leganes entered the match at the very foot of the LaLiga Santander table, yet they proved too solid for the Blaugrana to break down and even took the lead through Youssef En-Nesyri. Messi was too far back, being forced drop deeper into midfield to get then ball as the forward service was so lacking, whilst neither Dembele nor Griezmann were effective on the wings. Suarez was the only one of four forwards who was able to contribute and Valverde felt that change was needed very early on in the second half. Both Griezmann and Sergio Busquets were withdrawn at the same moment, but it was the former Atletico Madrid forward who was visibly unhappy at the substitution.
