ADASS is the association of directors of adult social services in England. We are a charity and the association aims to further the interests of people in need of social care by promoting high standards of social care services and influencing the development of social care legislation and policy.
As we approach the General Election on 12 December, ADASS is calling on the major political parties in England to prioritise the needs, wishes and aspirations of those of us who are older, disabled or who are carers: all of us who rely on adult social care.
Successive Governments of all political shades have promised to reform adult social care and to create a sustainable system that is genuinely fit for the 21st century but have ultimately failed to deliver on that promise. It is essential that the next Government breaks this cycle and creates a social care system that works for all of us.
