Preparing the Horses for the Addition of Fodder into their Diet

Preparing the Horses for the Addition of Fodder into their Diet Here’s a quick tip that we have implemented with our personal and training horses to help prepare them for the extra water intake they will experience as we start to add fodder into their winter diets. Our horses include horses is medium range work, light work, broodmares (open and in foal), Weanlings and horses ranging in age from 6months to 16.

Our goal is to continue providing a well rounded diet that puts forage first while making sure all the horses have the necessary minerals and nutrients that need each day. In addition- this process needs to be economical and at the very least not cost us more money- however our focus is on actually saving money on grain and dry forage (hay).
