EU agrees to Brexit extension but yet to decide on deadline

The European Union is set to delay Brexit. Officials have been meeting in Brussels to consider
Britain's request. While they have agreed to an extension, the length of the deferment has not been
decided. Some members oppose granting an extension until Jan 31, unless Britain can show it is
organising a vote that would clarify its position. UK PM Boris Johnson is adamant about settling
the crisis through a snap election. MPs will vote on Oct 28 on whether to go to the polls on Dec 12.
