You must have heard about Twitter Trends. If tweets on a particular subject starts increasing to a big amount, the subject trends on Twitter. Many times these trends are created by marketing agencies for promoting a particular product. These trends are also created by IT cells of political parties. A topic also starts trending on Twitter when its users start talking about a particular issue. Twitter Trends acts as one of the biggest stories of the country. Do governments and media houses care about people raising their issues through Twitter Trends? Groups or individuals tweeting about their issues tag high profile Twitter handles such as that of Prime Minister, other ministers of the concerned issues, media houses etc. so that their tweets reach to the concerned bodies. Do Twitter Trends helps in addressing the issues or it is just another formality of protest? In the Staff Selection Commission-Combined Graduated Level Examination (SSC CGL) for teacher's recruitment, candidates are getting their issues on twitter trends multiple times. Government is yet to address and respond to their issues. On Tuesday, recruitment of 69,000 teachers through SSC-CGL 17 was trending.
