How to say Hello, Hi, Greeting in Vietnamese, the simplest ways | Learn Vietnamese Online How to say Hello, Hi, Greeting in Vietnamese, the simplest ways

In Vietnam, there’s no difference between Hello and Hi. Both mean “Xin Chào”, a popular greeting way that can be used in almost any situation.
For foreigners, it is perfectly fine to greet “Xin chào” as a way to say hello in Vietnamese.

To show the respect, we have a structure: Chào + Personal Pronoun/ Title
Let say:
Chào bạn - to a person whose age is the same as yours.
Chào em - to a person who is younger than you.
Chào anh - to a man who is older than you.
Chào chị - to a woman who is older than you.
Chào ông - to a man whose age is the same as your grandfather’s.
Chào bà - to a woman whose age is the same as your grandmother’s.

Hope that helps you in your way of becomming a “Vietnamese”
This is a very simple and easy thing for foreigners to come to Vietnam.
