Fox News MUST censored. Corporations are NOT people. National unity is more important than propagating negativity/cynicism/hate without offering solutions. News media MUST move AWAY from hate-filled, corporate-owned television that people can binge watch and TOWARDS constructive, YouTube-based content that viewers decide for themselves to view with every click.
For this soldier, our current media paradigm is turning into a national security risk-- a risk of disintegrating national unity exacerbated by tiny government, giant corporate politic power, and a public that passively consumes information without asking the question: "Who benefits from my cynicism of programs meant to help the public?"
When the world sees that AMERICANS can be controlled with corporate media, bipartisanship and the demonizing of minorities, immigrants and poor people, the world follows suit. If America cannot escape these forces, no other country will either.
As it relates to the media, our current path is unsustainable. TV news is dying, so Fox News and other mainstream platforms are resorting to more and more divisive and inflammatory programming to maintain their ratings. They are simultaneously trying to cut deals with YouTube & Google to remove, censor & demonetize independent media programs. These programs are typically run by Americans with passionate journalistic spirits, who often toil in anonymity, uncompensated for months and years before hitting a point where they are able to break even.
These huge news and cable conglomerates have a dying audience and exist on television-- a dying medium. But they have the power and money to suppress independent actors who usually have NO RECOURSE. These conglomerates do not love America first. They love profits first. I am a soldier, and I am not naive. My campaign to relocate journalism from passively viewed corporate television to an online media which is financially independent and which viewers must actively seek out is impelled for 3 reasons:
1. The MSM’s reign of power on our attention spans is killing this country. I wish to hasten their end, before they drag this country down with them.
2. People thinking for themselves is more important than corporate profits.
3. America must lead the world. My approach would benefit the world, the species and the planet. If America does not lead, the world suffers.
Until the end of entrenched corporate media arrives, Americans will continue repeating Republican Party talking points and voting against the interest of their children and the human race. The Democratic Party is also partly to blame for the lack of fighting for real people, due to compromising with Mitch McConnell for years and pushing incrementalism for solving every problem.
Fox News and the Republican Party abuse the fact that human minds tend toward negative bias. They do not promote solutions. They make our conservative brothers and sisters ignore anything we say, and they are ruining the unity in this country.
They’ve been the top basic cable channel for almost 20 years. Their average audience member is a 68-year old who does not volunteer, but very politically active. This results in a political system which disproportionately reflect cynicism. The youth will be the ones who live with the consequences. Fox News should be censored. All news should be online, chosen video by video, instead of on television which constantly broadcasts a single-minded agenda.
