Lodha's extortion of Golden Dream/Orchid MHADA flat-buyers: 'Pay 30% more for your flat...or else'

People who are buying flats in Lodha's Golden Dream (buildings named "Orchid" near Katai Naka, and Taloja Bypass Road) by paying over Rs 30 lakhs should be aware that these are flats built for Lower Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The LIG and EWS flat-buyers, numbering roughly 900, have paid amounts ranging between Rs 9.5 lakh to 11 lakh for flats ranging between 250 and 400 sq ft. But now they have recently received letters requiring them to pay a further amount of 10 to 30 percent of the consideration value within a very short period of time. 10% is said to be an infrastructure deposit, and a further 20% is claimed to be an additional part of the consideration.

Palava Dwellers Private Ltd and MMR Social Homes Pvt Ltd are two companies forcing around 900 flat-buyers of Orchid to part with huge sums of money, virtually at gunpoint.
