During staying Cambodia, When talking about fishing, people must remember the Tonle Sap Lake (Biggest natural lake in the kingdom of Cambodia). It is said to be around 600 different kinds of fish in this Amazing Giant Lake. That is why most of Khmer people live their lives as fishermen and farmers.
The ways they fish still depend on traditional fishing yet. Unlike in other developing countries are using modern fishing equipment. Fortunately, people can fish in all seasons include main dry season and rainy season. They may catch fish, frogs, crabs, snails, snakes, Fish ,Fishing Trap, Deep hole, Khmer Trap,tortoises,
… from the field , pond, lake or river nearby.
Generally, they have different techniques to fish according the location they live in and the tradition they hold. Now I will show you some of the popular fishing methods they often use to catch fish as following:
- Throwing a fishing net which is use for all seasons.
