Seattle Police Arrest High School Student After Staff Finds Loaded Gun in His Backpack

Seattle Police Arrest High School Student After Staff Finds Loaded Gun in His Backpack On Friday, May 18, 2018 officers of the Seattle Police Department were called to the Franklin High School after school staff found a loaded handgun in the student's backpack. The 18-year-old student was called to the principal's office around 9 AM because he smelled like marijuana, and when he found out that the school was going to look in his bag he confessed that there might be a loaded gun in there. Just maybe. You know. Why not.

School staff confirmed the presence of a gun (and someone else's credit card) and the police were called.

The student was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, and stolen property.

The police investigation did not find any indications that there was a threat of violence against the school.
