GENDER EQUALITY| IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL MEN AND WOMEN TO UNDERSTAND

GENDER EQUALITY| IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL MEN AND WOMEN TO UNDERSTAND GENDER EQUALITY| IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL MEN AND WOMEN TO UNDERSTAND/ This video is about the importance of gender equality for men and women. I have discussed why it is important for men to not feel threatened by the idea of women getting equal rights and opportunities as them. There are many women in the world who are deprived of education, the right to own land, the right to marry according to their wishes, to get equal wages as men. Though we have come a long way as far as women's rights are concerned, but we still have a long way to go. It is important for people like me to keep on advocating gender equality and to keep on raising awareness about women's rights because people need to understand the importance of giving equal opportunities to both men and women.

Feminisim has become synonymous to man hating. I have shared a quote by Emma Watson about fighting for women's rights. I have also shared the definitions of gender equality and feminism. This video talks about the most important areas, in my opinion, that need immediate action as far as gender equality is concerned. These areas are quality education/right to enrollment in a school; right to decent work; women in decision-making and policy-making positions; women in politics; women's right to own land; equal pay for equal work.

Some of the obstacles in our way to attaining gender equality include: limitations set by society/culture/traditions/family pressures; gender stereotypes; rigid gender roles; gender bias and gender prejudice.
