[A] Stop Paying For Rejection Insurance (unhelpful behaviours, self-worth, rejection)

[A] Stop Paying For Rejection Insurance (unhelpful behaviours, self-worth, rejection) [A] Suitable for listeners of any gender. Contains no roleplay elements. TW: contains minor, vague mentions of the concept of child abuse and a car crash, but there are no graphic details or triggers.

This is an educational ramble on self-worth, fear of rejection and the bad habits and self-defeating behaviours we may use to 'protect' ourselves from hurt or rejection we anticipate is coming. I talk about things like the simplistic, inaccurate 'narratives' we may have from early childhood, behaviours like self-deprecation, ghosting, pushing people away, withdrawing from relationships or isolating ourselves, silencing ourselves, avoidance of intimacy or relationships, negative thoughts or self-talk, predicting rejection, cognitive biases like dismissing the nice things people say and focusing on the negatives. I link these kinds of behaviours to the insurance industry and how people may pay a lot of money over a long time period for absolutely no gain, simply hoping to 'protect' themselves from a catastrophe they fear will/may come, and talk about a mindset of 'loss avoidance' rather than actually trying to 'win' or live an enjoyable and fulfilling life.
