Salvador "Chuck" Valades is a first generation Mexican-American WWII veteran. He grew up in a box car in Edgemont, SD.
During the War, a series of circumstances led to his survival after being shot a German battlefield. Originally aired on KEVN-TV in Rapid City on 2/12/20 as part of Reporter Steve Long's "Along the Way" series.
