* You don’t need an expensive clipper to do this yourself. Also within brands, guard numbers are the same from model to model, but example a Wahl # 1 may differ from an Oster or Andis #1
* Don’t Rush * Start with the longest (highest number) guard that hits hair and work your way down to the shortest length you want.
* Start with taper lever open and gradually work your way to closed (closest cutting)
* Avoid pushing hard
* Have a brush handy or something to wipe off already cut hairs that stick so you can better see what your doing
* Especially avoid pushing hard straight on as this will create hard lines to blend later.
* Use the corner quarter inch of the blades where possible to prevent making hard lines, and also to clean up faint lines
* Don’t try to cut your neckline right at your jaw line. Especially if you may intent to grow your beard out, a half inch to inch above the Adams Apple is a good general guideline.
* Lastly, if you have a spouse or partner, CLEAN up your hairs when your done. Last thing you want is a frying pan to your freshly cleaned up face! 😂🤪 somewhat joking.
