Enhanced 'screen time' could impact on a child's everyday learning

Enhanced 'screen time' could impact on a child's everyday learning Family Digital Literacy Specialist Dr Joanne Orlando has spoken with Sky News of the impacts enhanced 'screen time' with technology is having on young children in Australia, both at school and at home.

As the school year begins, parents are being encouraged to share screen time with their kids as a way to limit their children's time with technology.

Dr Orlando told Sky News "it can be tricky" for parents, as students move into high school and fell the need to have an enhanced dependency on technology.

"Potentially they could be using them '24/7' if they were allowed," Dr Orlando said.

"There is a lot of conversations that need to be had with parents around new rules around these new devices," Dr Orlando said.
