Common Ground Sample Video

My new single, "Common Ground," will soon be available for digital download! Here's a preview video with the sights of my muse Holy Wisdom Monastery. "Common Ground" is a musical reflection on Benedictine spirituality, ecumenism, and collaborative ecological restoration. In a world full of forces seeking to divide us, it is wonderful to discover people and places that help human beings find and celebrate what unites us. One of those places is Holy Wisdom Monastery in Middleton, Wisconsin, where the peace and presence of God is all around. I have received the gift of spending time there learning about contemplative spirituality and the monastic way of life. This experience profoundly impacted me and renewed my spirit, leading to the music and lyrics of this ballad celebrating the intertwined life of prayer, hospitality, justice, and care for the earth that is the mission of Holy Wisdom Monastery. The sisters and community of Holy Wisdom seek to bring people together from many different denominations, religions, and ideologies to learn from each other and collaborate in restoring the beautiful Wisconsin prairie. I have learned from them that the whole earth and everything in it is united by God's spirit and presence. This is common ground!
