A charity for retail workers has told ITV News it's seen a 50 percent rise in calls for help.

It comes as new figures reveal almost 60,000 shop staff in the UK lost their jobs last year alone.

And although many do find employment again, some suffer financial hardship and struggle with self-confidence.
