Report says swapping a serving of peanuts for another snack may beneficial to your health

Report says swapping a serving of peanuts for another snack may beneficial to your health CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A new report says if you are looking for a way to improve your health in the new year, you may want to swap snacks.

The Peanut Institute released a new report. They've done several studies on snacking on nuts as part of a healthy diet. Researchers say if you are looking to make healthy changes in the new year, up the things that you like that are good for you and try to trade them in for the things you like that aren't so good for you.

Nuts have a good kind of fat compared to some other kinds of snack foods, such as chips. They are also high in protein and fiber.

Previous studies have shown those who eat them are more satisfied compared to other snacks. They also tend to be able to maintain weight better and have less waist weight, which is when you hold body fat around your middle.

Peanuts are also in the superfood category because they pack a powerful nutritional punch in just a small handful. A serving is about 35 peanuts, which is an ounce, or about two tablespoons of peanut butter.
