Bedhampton Level Crossing, Bedhampton, Havant, Hampshire Date filmed: 29/11/2019
Location: West Street, Bedhampton
Trains: Class 377 (Southern)
Found next to Bedhampton Station in the Western end of Havant near Portsmouth in Hampshire. There are four GWE barriers with supporter arms at this crossing, which are incredibly rare in the UK nowadays, and they all are in good working order. The two alarms here are very old-looking, and are rather noisy too. This level crossing is also very busy with both rail and road traffic, with the barriers lowering for trains every few minutes, with some closures seeing multiple trains at a time, causing a lot of traffic problems around the area.
After less than two minutes from the amber light sequence coming on, a Class 377 speeds by in this rather short closure, which greatly contrasts the closure length which could usually be expected here!
Thanks for watching!
