Manchester drugs gang flooded Preston with 'competitively-priced' heroin A county lines drugs gang that delivered heroin and crack cocaine from Manchester to Preston has been jailed.   The gang travelled daily between the two cities to supply local drug users.  Lancashire Police said county lines operations are used by organised crime groups to distribute 'competitively-priced, controlled drugs to areas in the country where they are less readily available'.  After becoming aware of the gang's activities detectives launched Operation New Era to crack down on the dealing.  They conducted a number of searches, executing warrants in the Preston area and seizing drugs.  Abrar Ahmed, 24, of Kingsway, Manchester, Yasir Ali, 22, of Meade Grove, Manchester, Shavon Morrison, 21, of Claremont Road, Manchester and Richard Mushonga 21, of Medway Close, Salford were all arrested and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs.   All four men were sentenced at Preston Crownm Court on Friday before Judge Robert Altham.  Ahmed was jailed for five years, Ali for four years eight months, and Morrison and Mushonga each sentenced to three years and four months in prison. Read more of today's top stories here  Speaking after the hearing, Det Insp Roger Ashcroft said: "As soon as we were aware of this County Lines operation targeting vulnerable drug users in Preston we were determined to bring the organised crime group to justice and we are grateful to those who provided us with information leading to their arrest.  "We hope this serves as a warning to anyone entering Lancashire with the intent to supply drugs in our community – we will find them and ensure they are punished accordingly."
