China confirms new coronavirus can be transmitted between humans

There is increasing concern over a new coronavirus that originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, after officials confirmed cases of human-to-human transmission. The virus has killed at least six peopleand infected almost 300. But as China enters its peak travel season, hundreds of millions of people are rushing home for the Lunar New Year, leading health experts to predict the number of infections will rise. Chinese President Xi Jinping has meanwhile called on officials to do everything they can to contain the virus.
