Let’s Play HC Minecraft Take Three #40: Picking a Village Location The seed for the world is -4530229098322994391 (Java Edition). Please refrain from posting spoilers about the seed, including the location of desirable resources and locations of interest.

With the large map now entirely filled in, it’s time to start thinking about the next big goal of this playthrough, one that had disastrous consequences in the previous run: creating a village. While you can find villages out and about, they’re quite rare and often far away from your initial spawn. This makes taking advantages of the trades you can make there a long and difficult process that I’d much rather avoid, which means making a village of my own.

What defines a village has changed somewhat since the last playthrough and for the better. The maximum number of villages is determined by the number of beds within it rather than doors, allowing you to avoid making houses with lots of doors or hidden door complexes to get a decently populated village. They also start spawning iron golems a lot sooner than before, which makes them far easier to defend. We don’t want the village too close to our home though because of the pillage debuff, so let’s find a site within easy travel distance and lay the groundwork for our village.
