Hong Kong police say they found thousands of petrol bombs in Polytechnic University sweep Hong Kong police said on Thursday that they had found more than 3,000 petrol bombs and other chemicals that could be used to create them in Polytechnic University during a sweep of the school.

Authorities had entered the school about two weeks after the university had become a battleground, when protesters barricaded themselves inside and clashed with riot police. About 1,100 people were arrested last week.

It's unclear if any protesters remained on campus when police conducted their search, but officials said they found more than 3,000 Molotov cocktails and hundreds of bottles of corrosive liquids.
