MY SISTERS VIDEO ON LEARNING TO DEAL WITH EMOTIONS:

If you’re anything like me, you might find it extremely difficult to identify what you love to do or who you are.

The world is extremely fast moving these days and excess information is being bombarded into our brain, giving very little time for your brain to experience boredom, where inspiration can flow or where an original thought can be formulated.

This has left so many of us feeling confused, even to the point of not being able to identify what kind of food or music you like. But I believe there is a built in compass to help you tune into yourself and undertake activities that are aligned with your soul.

Joy:
The emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying; keen pleasure; elation.

I believe knowing who you will come from following joy.

Joy unlocks what you are here for, here to do, what will bring you greatest fulfilment.

The pure joy that makes you giddy, that you lose yourself in for hours, it’s just pure pleasure that you’re doing that activity.

Not for the purpose of making this into a job, not for the purpose of impressing someone, just because.

I keep getting DMs from people saying they LOVE drawing but are too afraid to put pencil to paper and they label it an artists block.

I don’t believe artists block would exist if you didn’t care about the result and focused on the act of creation. If you take expectations off from what the result should look like, to just feeling the pleasure of creation, your skills would inevitably improve, but that wouldn’t bother you either way, because it is the process you fell in love with.

I think a lot of people sit with heavy hearts thinking that being joyful is a shallow thing to focus on in the world.

I think exemplification of joy in a heavy world is precisely what we need more of.

I think people filled with joy make overall better decisions for everyone and for the world.

And if throughout your life you engage in activities of joy and build up your skills within the realm of things you love, one day your skills will become useful in contributing back to the earth, even if it’s simply living authentically and in joy, when so much of the world is in misery.

Your life full of wonder would serve as an example of the kind of existence that is possible.

And that in itself is enough to change the world.

Do I believe joy is a constant state, even if you start something out of joy eg. My violin experience?

No, I know life has twists and turns and violin is a bitch of an instrument and eventually the joy will dwindle.

But the initial curiosity and joy that drew you to the activity and the joy you feel from leveling up overtime can be a reminder you’re on track.

Here are some other things you can do to increase levels of joy:

- Work less (refer to my previous video to find out more)
- Unfollow - comparison is the thief of joy and now days, social media really is a place for comparison. Follow only people that make you feel good, u follow or mute people that don’t
- Sit for 15 minutes a day and do nothing - nothing. Allow boredom to creep in - sometimes boredom is the reset emotion before joy can become present
- And finally Learn how to FEEL emotions. You might feel numb and you’ve forgotten how to feel which is preventing you from experiencing joy. Emotions have messages within them. Maybe before feeling joy, you have to release an endless waterfall of anger first. Watch my sister video on learning to feel emotions.

Let me know your thoughts on this idea and if you agree, or disagree or have another point of view.
