Children Partially Buried in Sand During Solar Eclipse Due To Superstitious Belief In Kalaburagi

In a shocking incident, children are partially buried in sand due to superstitious belief in Kalaburagi. The incident took place at Taj Sultanpur in Kalaburagi.

The couple were of the opinion that by doing so, their infant — physically disabled — will be cured and the sin on their family would be over. Partially burying the child for hours in dirt, the parents waited till the eclipse was over.

Though there is no association of physical cure with eclipse, yet we have seen incidences like this happening over and over again.
