A Synchro-Compur shutter in a bad state. In this case all the diaphragm blades were displaced. A Kodak Retina IIIC camera arrived for servicing. The owner had attempted to clean the diaphragm blades, but things went wrong. The blades were displaced from their normal positions and the camera rendered useless.
Here I discuss the problem, service the shutter and demonstrate how easy it is to cause the fault.
