A Superior Celebration

The Christmas Story is full of unexpected twists and turns. For the priest, Zechariah, this involved a year of silence, a son in his old age, and being confronted by an angel. For us life is full of unexpected twists and turns that distract and cause anxiety and stress. Luke wrote these stories of Jesus to assure his readers that they could know for certain the things they were taught. Zechariah's response to life's twists and turns is a celebration of the Messiah, the one who is superior to and sovereign over our twists and turns. Pray that despite the holiday stresses and distractions, we might enjoy a superior celebration.
