Harajuku Station will be Torn Down in 2020 — Should Tokyo Preserve it?

The new Harajuku Station is set to open on March 21, 2020 and the old Harajuku Station? Tokyo will tear it down following the Olympics / Paralympics in the fall. But should it be preserved? We'll take a quick look inside and around the old statioon.
Why is Harajuku Station being torn down? It was built for 10% of the current foot traffic and the old building doesn't meet new fire standards. In case of an earthquake, the building may not be safe.
