Rescue efforts are underway in Japan after Typhoon Hagibis made landfall on the main island of Honshu on October 12, 2019, bringing torrential rain that triggered landslides and caused rivers to burst their banks and flood wide areas.More than 100,000 people, including 31,000 troops, have been involved in rescue efforts using boats and helicopters to save people caught up in the storm.Japan’s government has confirmed at least 14 deaths and 11 people missing as of October 14, but local media reported that at least 35 people were killed.
