That's Really Rather Disappointing...

Wow, we haven't even hit Octember yet but early Octember is hitting everyone. This time it was xjoe81x. Remember his Rheem 3.5 ton? The fan motor quit on the condensor.

I can't believe the racket the HVAC industry has. Can't get parts unless you're a licensed HVAC contractor. That's ridiculous. I can understand refrigerant, but anything else is just a simple part like for a car. And then you have to pay "professional" prices, which are inflated 20 times over what it should really cost.

And let's not even talk about the price of this awful ECM motor, that's beyond ridiculous. No savings whatsoever, only heavy cost.

Anyway, the fan motor and blade have been replaced and it's running again normally.
