Peculiar Asphalt

Peculiar Asphalt With help from the City of Rochester, local mural artist Brittany Williams took the idea of painting basketball courts from paper to pavement.
During the summer of 2019, Brittany and her creative team of youth artists designed and painted two outdoor basketball courts in Rochester; 136 First St and Tacoma Park.
The positive impacts of Peculiar Ashpalt's work are profound. More kids are coming to the parks to play. Residents praise the artwork and say the artwork gives them a sense of pride and ownership of the park that they didn't feel before. The program has been so successful in fact, Brittany was just given the green light to design and paint two more basketball courts in the City of Rochester this fall!
