How to use the acceleration of an object on a ramp to find the time it will take to reach the bottom and what its velocity will be when it gets there. The set up of the problem requires using Newton's Second Law and creating a free body diagram, find help with that here: Inclined plane problems are extremely common. By the time you finish your first physics class, kinematics problems like these will be second nature. Until then, it might be a grind - I'm here to help!
General Steps:
1) Draw an accurate free body diagram
2) Split forces into components
3) Sum the forces in each dimension (x,y,z)
4) Find acceleration of moving bodies
5) Use kinematic equations and initial conditions to find the final velocity and position
Keep your variables in your equations as long as possible!
