The Jehovah’s Witness organization has again come under the microscope for their weak responses (and sometimes cover-ups) to/of child sexual abuse. The mainstream media has noticed. This scrutiny has come especially since the New York Child Victims Act has come into effect as of August 14th, 2019. Also, the Jehovah’s Witnesses legal department is appealing to the US Supreme Court to allow them to use the “priest penitent privilege” (something they’ve criticized the Catholic Church for in the past).
