El Paso Police confirm 20 dead, 26 injured in mass shooting Authorities confirmed that 20 people are dead and 26 are injured due to the Aug. 3 El Paso shooting in Texas. A press conference, which provided updates by police and other El Paso officials, was held later on in the same day as the attack.

Police said a male suspect is in custody after multiple people were killed in the shooting, which took place at a Walmart and at Cielo Vista Mall. During the time of this press conference, authorities did not release the perpetrator's name but did confirm he is a 21-year-old male.
