DAY-HIKING: The Stunning Lower Calf Creek Falls

DAY-HIKING: The Stunning Lower Calf Creek Falls In this video, my kids and I travelled to Escalante National Monument to hike the Lower Calf Creek Falls.

The Lower Calf Creek Falls is part of the Calf Creek Falls within Calf Creek. It is located near Escalante City and it a beautiful, tall waterfall. This hike is approximately 5.5 miles out and back. It is an easy to follow trail with approximately 600 feet in elevation gain throughout the hike. At the end of the hike in is the beautiful Lower Calf Creek Fall. In the summer it can get very hot so hiking in the early hours of the day is the best decision. The trail runs along the creek so if you have a water filter its easier to not worry about water. Otherwise, plenty of water is recommended.

We arrived at the trailhead at around 8:30 am, which was a little later than what I wanted. Made it to the waterfall by 10:30 and returned around 11:30. The hike back was tougher as the temperature went up to almost 97° F. However, it was so worth it! I highly recommend it!
