The process is simple you will need a few tools.
A Saw they are a few in the market from gasoline to electric as well different sizes remember that the size of you saw will determine how dip you usually cut.
The one I used in the video is the largest Makita circular saw in the market is a great saw I have since 2003 and still work great, if you don't want to invest in a large saw they are places where you could rent a gasoline one most they are going to be a little small but they do a great job; the have a lot or power almost like a chainsaw…
Well if you only have a 4" saw it will work is going to take a longer…
To Carve in Stone a Fire Pit for natural gas or propane you need to select a great piece of stone, one that will look good with the rest of your Landscape or Garden Design, they are a lot to choose from big boulder of Granite, Lamistone, Marble And the list immense so choose the one that grab you attention.
As well you are going to need a few hand tools like A Hand Set Stone Carving Chisels that will break big piece of natural stone after you cut with the saw, you will see how in this video.
After you used the Hand Sets tools you will need a Stone Carving Point Chisels this tool is considered the hard worker in stone carving you could create the entire fire pit with just this chisels, but is going to take longer, the great stone Sculptors of the past created numerous Masterpieces that are in Churches, Museums and private collection with just a few chisels and the point chisels was the key to rough out the entire sculpture with the combination of a good Mallet in this video I using a 4lbs Mallet remember that you want something that you could handle and hammer in for hours with 4lbs hammer is not that easy , but you could purchase 2,3lbs as well remember that the larger the mallet the most impact will be against the stone and biggest piece will break.
After you finish stone carving Fire Pit you need to drill 2 to 3 hole a 3' to4" for draining the rain, 3"hole to bring the natural gas or propane and the small 1"1/2 one for the switch to activate the gas.
To fill the Stone Fire Pit you will going to use different material is dependent what you like most people choose fire glass but I could become spensive, you could use in the bottom a lava Rock that will work fantastic with fire temperatures and to give the great look use a small amount of fire glass in top that will do the trick...
